The end of summer is approaching.
I can see you, sneaky schoolyear, looming up ahead of me. But actually, I’m not dreading you. Weird, right? I guess it has something to do with the return of Once and Sherlock (both seasons 3), and the release of Catching Fire and Thor 2 this fall…. just maybe 🙂
The truth is, I like to be busy, and school makes you busy. Unfortunately, the other side of that truth is that school occupies almost all of my time, which means less baking 😦 So, as August draws to a close, you can find me more and more in the kitchen, desperately trying to fit just one more delicious recipe into vacation time and actually regretting not being able to run it off. Oh, well. Truffles, here I come!
Nutella Sea Salt Truffles
3/4 c. Nutella
2 T. heavy whipping cream
1 T. sweetened condensed milk
1/2 c. chocolate chips
Sifted cocoa powder and powdered sugar (for coating)
Fleur de Sel (or regular sea salt) for sprinkling
In a medium saucepan, cook first three ingredients until melted together and smooth. There may be some lumps at this point, but don’t overcook the mixture. Pour over chocolate chips and let sit for 5-7 minutes. Stir until smooth (just keep working it, even though it may seem lumpy.) Refrigerate for 1-2 hours, until easily rolled into a ball. Roll in powdered sugar/ cocoa powder mixture. Sprinkle with sea salt. Keep refrigerated.
