You know that feeling, when you’ve accomplished something that looked really hard but turned out to be fun? These marshmallows were like that. The concept of making my own seemed a little daunting, and since they were intended for S’more consumption, I made sure to have extra store-bought on had. Just in case.
But making the marshmallows was actually quite enjoyable. Watching the fluff come together, beating the egg whites, mixing it all up and waiting for it to set…it was cool!
Of course, most of that wouldn’t look enjoyable in retrospect unless the marshmallows actually turned out and tasted good. Which they did, and they do. Absolutely uhmazing used for s’mores. The fluffy texture was spot-on; they were light but still substantial enough to taste really good. I used this recipe from smitten kitchen and changed nothing. Thanks, Deb!
