Pictures are worth more than words. Suffice it to say that this bark is a perfect marriage of sweet, salty, and bitter. The milk chocolate and the cacao nibs contrast and complement each other, and the salted caramel provides added interest and just generally makes things more delicious. Trust me, this bark is worth 20 minutes of your time.
Milk Chocolate + Cacao Nib + Salted Caramel Bark
2/3 c. sugar
1 T. butter
1 t. salt
1.5 T cream
Melt your milk chocolate (it really doesn’t matter how much) Sprinkle on cacao nibs. Again, quantity is subjective to your preference. Let cool and wait for it to set. Meanwhile, make the caramel:
Prepare butter and cream, set near stove. Cook sugar on high until amber and aromatic. Remove from heat. Quickly whisk in butter and cream.
Once the caramel has cooled slightly (don’t leave it for too long, it will get really super hard), drizzle it over the set milk chocolate. Store in refrigerator or freezer.
